Several of the most common knee and shoulder diagnoses will now be discussed. First the definition of each diagnosis and then the problem, or pathoanatomy, will be discussed. The symptoms and signs of the diagnosis will be explained. The expected course without treatment, or natural history of the diagnosis, will then be discussed. Finally, the treatment options and specific aspects of surgical intervention will be explained.
